Job Description:

Procurement Officer Duties and Responsibilities

  • Estimating and establishing cost parameters and budgets for purchases
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases and pricing
  • Making professional decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Maintain records of purchases, pricing, and other important data
  • Review and analyze all vendors/suppliers, supply, and price options
  • Develops plans for purchasing equipment, services and supplies
  • Negotiate the best deal for pricing and supply contracts
  • ensure that the products and supplies are high quality
  • Create and maintain inventory of all incoming and current supplies
  • Maintain and update list of suppliers and their qualifications, delivery times, and potential future development

Required Skills:

  • Solid knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, policy, and systems
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
  • Ability to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions
  • Ability to work well with management and staff at all levels
  • Goal-oriented, organized team player

BRAC began operations in Pakistan in 2007 through a micro finance program. In addition to micro finance, we are now running program in health and education. BRAC is currently serving about 437,465 people in 14 districts of four provinces. BRAC's micro finance program was launched in 2007 on a small scale in Punjab and the North West Frontier Province (NWFP). It is now operating with 88 branch offices, and has 45,011 women borrowers. BRAC considers education a powerful tool for combating discrimination's, illiteracy and poverty. BRAC started 20 pre-primary schools in 2009 in NWFP's Haripur district. The schools now have more than 600 students, about 61% of them girls. BRAC also initiated a health program in 2009, with services in Punjab's Sahiwal and Pakpattan districts and NWFP's Nowshera district. The program trains local health workers and volunteers to provide basic health care and health education to families and communities.
